AREAS OF EFFECTIVENESS

ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT (7 years): Founder and owner of nationwide EAP program based in western Montana since 2010. Executive Director of EAP in Missoula, MT. Provided oversight and direction for all aspects of EAP program. Coordinated delivery of EAP services for 30+ contracts. Managed vendor relationships as well as relationships with 80+ professional counselors on EAP panel. Organized and developed content for annual workshop. Successfully marketed EAP program and expanded book-of-business by at least 25% over 16 months.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT (21 years): Conducted initial EAP supervisory and employee orientations. Developed and provided Drug & Alcohol trainings (DOT and State of Iowa Drug-Free Workplace) for supervisors. Consulted with company managers and/or HR regarding troubled employees, EAP management referral process, development and/or refinement of drug/alcohol, harassment and workplace violence policies. Conducted utilization review and contract renewal meetings with contracted company officials. Reviewed annual EAP promotional plans with company representatives. COUNSELING (11 years)

Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling: Provided career counseling, employer development, job development. Conducted Job Analyses, Transferable Skills Analyses, Labor Market Research, Employability Wage Loss Analyses and Ergonomic Assessments. Job placement services were provided for a wide array of persons with disabilities and in numerous settings (Iowa’s Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa’s Department for the Blind).

Employee Assistance Counseling: Provided short-term assessment, counseling and referral services within the context of an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for persons dealing with relationship problems, chemical dependency, depression, anxiety, and a wide variety of other presenting issues.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefer (CISD): Served as a CISD debriefer on two different CISD teams – Head of the Lakes and Employee & Family Resources – over the past 11 years. CISD experience includes role as both team member and lead debriefer in response to a wide range of traumatic events for emergency response personnel and within the business sector.

INSTRUCTING/PRESENTING (20 years): Developed seminar and workshop materials on “Conflict Resolution”, “Stress Management”, “Change Management”, “Meditation”, “Smoking Cessation”, “Step parenting”, “Assertiveness”, and “Customer Service” training. Presented information to personnel of host organization and to many local and regional contracted businesses. Marketed Employee Assistance, Wellness, Leadership and Executive Coaching and Organization Development with perspective clients.

CONSULTING (19 years): Provided consultation for contracted companies regarding conflict resolution, ergonomics and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Developed and delivered instructional seminar on “Employer development and Job Development” for State of Iowa’s Bureau of Refugee Services. Reviewed and amended Affirmative Action plans of two (2) major financial institutions in Des Moines. Revisions involved the development and expansion of applicant recruitment procedures and the establishment of appropriate Affirmative Action goals as related to the interviewing, hiring, and promotion of persons with disabilities and other target groups.
